Caribbean Conservation
Association (CCA), established in 1967 as a Wider Caribbean
regional membership organization, comprises governments, NGOs and
individuals and promotes the environmental management and the preservation
of cultural heritage. (English only)
Caribbean
Environmental Reporters Network (CERN), a network with a membership
of 35 in 13 countries. It was established in March 1993 to help
raise the standard of environmental journalism in the Caribbean
and to create a better awareness of environmental issues among Caribbean
people. All CERN's activities are implemented in close collaboration
with the Panos Institute, which also provides institutional support.

Caribbean Epidemiology Centre (CAREC),
based in Trinidad and Tobago, implements research, advisory services,
planning and information programmes on infectious diseases. (English

Committee to Protect Journalists
(CPJ), begun in 1981, responds to attacks on the press everywhere
in the world. CPJ investigates more than 2,000 cases every year
and takes action on behalf of journalists and their news organizations
without regard to political ideology. (English and Spanish)
Inter Press Service, a leading
provider of information on global issues, based on a network of
journalists in more than 100 countries, with satellite communication
links to 1,200 outlets. (English and Spanish)
Island Resources Foundation (IRF),
a non-profit research and education organization dedicated to solving
the environmental problems of development in small tropical islands.

Haitian Telematic Network
for Research and Development (REHRED), An information service
for members as well as other users, with 11 "listservs"
including discussion fora (some of these are open to all and some
are limited to members). The site provides also access to 6 international
lists on Haiti.
Panos Institute - Accra, Bamako
& Dakar, with information on the media in West Africa, its
projects and activities, radio programmes and a photo gallery. (English

Panos Institute - London with media briefings, feature articles,
radio programmes and an overview of all its programmes. (English

Panos Pictures - London, a
specialist library of documentary images of the developing world,
news on assignments, a gallery and folios showcasing the work of
individual photographers.
UNEP Caribbean Environment Programme,
an intergovernmental programme for the sustainable development of
the marine and coastal resources of the Wider Caribbean region.
