ASON's photo gallery of a campaign in the West Department Dec. 1-23, 2000.

This tour covered several cities of the West and aimed to sensitize the population on the epidemic of HIV/AIDS, to provide necessary information on how to protect one-self against it. People who live with the virus shared their experiences as a proof to the large audience that AIDS exists and that it's time to cast out all the taboos.

This Caravane, which features musicians Azor and Boulo Valcourt, is organized by a great number of organisations. It plans to visit a total of 12 cities in Haiti. On 7 October the Caravane visited Jérémie, the capital of the Department of Grand'Anse.

During the Carnival activities of Jacmel and Port-au-Prince, membres of the Association for National Solidarity (ASON), an association of people infected and affected by the HIV virus, worked to prevent the further spread of the disease. They joined the parades and gave powerful testimonies on their status. Additionally, they handed out information materials and condoms.
